A panel convened by the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs explored the potential benefits and risks of screening for oral squamous cell carcinomas and the use of screening aids to detect malignant or potentially malignant oral lesions. The panel's findings are published as the cover story in the May edition of The Journal of the American Dental Association.

ADA victory in Senate vote to exempt dental practices from financial bill requirements

The full Senate May 12 unanimously approved an amendment offered by Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) that would exempt dental practices and other eligible small businesses from the jurisdiction of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), as proposed in the Restoring American Financial Stability Act (S. 3217).
